The Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty's Hindu College was started in the year 1969 at Pattabiram, a semi - urban area of Chennai, to commemorate the birth centenary of our illustrious founder, Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty Garu whose services were praised by Dr.Annie Besant and Mahakavi Bharathiar.
Our College is situated in the Chennai - Thiruvallur High Road at a distance of about 25 Kms from Chennai.The college has membership with other institutions like Andhra Chamber of Commerce, Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, American Library, British Council Library, Madras University Library and ICSSR.

WELCOME TO DRBCCC

Sri M.V. Cunniah Chetty, B.Sc., B.Com., became the Secretary of the college on 6th June 1990. He introduced Evening College in the campus in the academic year 1995 - 1996. The Evening College is under self financing stream and it is absolutely service oriented. He was instrumental in introducing B.Sc., Computer Science, B.Com., B.B.A., B.Sc. Mathematics, B.C.A., B.Com. Corporate Secretaryship, B.Sc. Electronics and Communication Science courses.

Sri M. Venkatesaperumal, B.A., F.C.A., took charge as the Secretary of the college with effect from 01-04-2001.He secured affiliation to B.Sc., (Information Systems Management), M.Com. Later B.Sc. Visual Communication, B.Com (Accounting and Finance) and Master of Social Work (M.S.W.), M.A. Economics, M.Phil. in Commerce,M.A. Tamil and B.A.Criminology and Police Administration were introduced subsequently.

Our History

In 1963 the idea of establishing a college was vigorously pursued by Sri. C. Ethiraj, the then Honorary Correspondent of all the educational institutions under the charities. He successfully realized this vision in 1969.
“Providing Quality and Value Based Education to the needy, downtrodden and first generation students of the society”.
To improve the Quality of Education on par with the International Standards so as to enable our students to occupy high positions in the National and International Arena”

திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்ட தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறையால் நடத்தப்பட்ட கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்கான கட்டுரைப் போட்டியில் தமிழ்த்துறை முதுகலை மாணவி பா.சரசுவதி இரண்டாம் பரிசு ரூ. 7000 பெற்றுள்ளார்.

Our college shift I &II Telugu students won overall trpohy in Telugu competitions held by Madras Christian College 21/1/2026.

P. Rithika (44549), Department of Commerce (shift - 1), participated in the state level competition conducted by the DIPR on the topic "Tamil Vellum". She won the prize in the drawing competition and received a medal with a certificate from the Honorable minister Thiru. Mu. Pe. Swaminathan.

V.Arunkumar of B com General Shift 1 participated in National Integration Camp -2022 held at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore from 18th to 24 th May 2022 organized by NSS Regional Directorate, Chennai in association with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore , Tamil Nadu.

R.Vishnu Raj of BCA ,Shift II participated in the 26th National Youth Festival,2023 at Hubbali -Dharwad Karnataka from 12th to 16th January,2023 and attended Youth summit.

S. Sandhiya from III B.Com 'A' section won 1st place in the essay writing competition on drug awareness held on 27.3.2025 as part of the Drive Against Drug Club(NSS). She received a shield and cash prize of ₹2000 from the Avadi Commissioner of Police.

Naresh of III B.C.A and Aswin of III B.Com General received a shield on 7.4.25 on behalf of their Triuvallur Home project from Tiruvallur Traffic police for their meticulous efforts in crowd control.
