UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN 2018-19
UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, with the intention to enrich rural India. The knowledge base and resources of the Premier Institutions of the country are to be leveraged to bring in transformational change in the rural development. It also aims to create a vibrant relationship between the society and the higher educational institutes, with the latter providing the knowledge and technology support to improve the livelihoods in rural areas. The Higher Education Institutes will select five rural villages to run the project and Rs. 50000 will be funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Enrolment and Selection of DRBCCC Hindu College:
DRBCCC Hindu College with the history of serving the rural community enrolled itself for the UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN project for 2018-2019 before the deadline. The institution proposed the five villages namely Rangapuram, Arumbakkam, Morai, Mamandur and Pullarambakam of Thiruvallur District. The college is selected as one among the 330 non technical institution all over India and only one Non-Technical Institution in Thiruvallur in the first list of selected institutes on Gandhi Jayanthi 2nd October 2018 by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
