History of the department

History 

Department of Economics was started in the year 2000 in shift-2 of DRBCCC Hindu College. An economics association-Seethamma Economics Association for Development was inaugurated in 2009.

Guest lectures, Department programmes, Inter-collegiate competitions were conducted under the name of Association.

The Department has been elevated as PG Department of Economics in 2016.  The Students make use of Commerce Lab for their practical knowledge.

Objectives

  • To provide an opportunity to exhibit student’s talents in various activities
  • To motivate the students to participate in various competitions both inside and outside the College
