History of the department

HISTORY

The Department of Electronics and Communication Science was established in the year 2000 as B.Sc. Electronics Science affiliated to University of Madras. The objective of the Department is to enhance students in the field of Electronics. The syllabus & examination is based on CBCS system.

VISION

The desideratum of the department is to prioritize students in first place and provide them a high standard education and also to impact a strong knowledge in the area of Electronics.

MISSION

To develop a good technical skill of the students along with integrated personality, helping them to be a good citizen.

Department Activities and Achievements of Staffs and Students:

INGNITED INTER SCHOOL COMPETION -2018

Ignited 2018 was conducted on August 2018. Valeditory function was addressed by Dr.RitaJohn,Professor & Head Department of Theoretical Physics,Chairperson, School of Physical Science,University of Madras,Guindy campus, Chennai – 25.

Electrofest Intercollegiate Event –  2018

 

The Department of Electronics and Communication Science organised Electrofest 2018 on 23.03.2018 . It was an Intercollegiate event for various colleges. Chief guest for the Inaugral function was Dr.P.Premchander , Asst Prof & Head, PG Dept of ECS, Government Arts College, Surandai, Tirunelveli District. Chief guest for the Valedictory function was Dr.L.John Kennedy ,Associate Professor & Head, Department of Physics , School of Advanced Sciences, VIT University , Chennai.

 

IGNITED INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION-2017

Ignited 2017 was conducted on 18th August 2017.Valedictory function was addressed by Dr.P.Iyamperumal, Executive Director, Tamil Nadu Science & Technology Centre, Chennai.

ELECTRO FEST 2017

 

Electrofest 2017 was conducted on 11.03.2017, The valedictory function was addressed by Dr.G.S. Ayyappan, Senior Scientist, CSIR – CSIO, Assistant Professor – AcSIR CSIR, Taramani, Chennai.

ELECTRO FEST 2016

 

Electrofest 2016 was conducted on 25.02.2016 . The Valedictory function was addressed byDr.V.Krishnamurthy, Director, National Institute of Electronics &  Information Technology ( NIELIT ), Govt of India, Kotturpuram, Chennai.

IGNITED INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION 2016

Ignited 2016 was conducted on 31st August 2016. The function was inaugrated by former Principal Dr.S.Kalpana Bai.Over 450 students from various schools participated in the event.

The valedictory function was addressed by Dr.P.Arulmozhichelvan.,M.Sc.,M.Phil.,B.Ed.,Ph.D.,Asso.Profesor, PG & Research Dept of Physics, Pchaiyappa’s college, Chennai. He distributed the prizes for the winners of the event.
