History of the department

History 

The Department of Commerce came into existence in the year 1996-97.  To meet the growing demand two more sections were added in 2001 and 2005. At present the total strength of the Department is 630. The Department aims at maintaining academic excellence and to equip students with skills necessary to face the challenges in the business world. The Department conducts periodical test to know about the student’s performance. Apart from the academic side the Department also conducts Inter-Collegiate competitions, seminars and Guest Lectures to enhance the talents of the students. The Department has sizeable student’s intake, good pass percentage, University Ranks and good placement record. The Students make use of Commerce Lab for their practical knowledge.

Department Activities

2018-19

PG and Research department of Commerce conducted UGC/NET coaching classes for II M.Com students for three days from 27th to 29th June 2018.

 

Guest Lecture on “Emotional Intelligence”


PG and Research department of Commerce conducted Guest Lecture for the PG Students on the topic ‘Emotional Intelligence’ on 2nd August 2018. Dr.V.Raghu Raman, Professor of Management Studies Oman University, Oman addressed the students.

 

 

KOSMOSCOM 2019

Department of commerce conducted KOSMOSCOM, Annual department function INTER-COLLEGIATE competition on 10th January 2019. The programme was inaugurated by our principal Dr.V.Lakshmi and our director Dr.N.Rajendra Naidu. 134 students from 15 colleges from different parts of the cities participated in five events.
